New to Troostwijk Auctions?

Bieden en winnen veiling Troostwijk Auctions

Welcome! We are the online auction partner that seamlessly connects businesses with the second-hand industrial goods market. What is surplus to one is a new beginning for another. This is how value is transferred from one company to the next.

We're pleased to provide information on purchasing industrial machines and materials. From tractors to boats, from cars to trucks, from entire production lines to shop interiors and much more.

Sellers or consignors register with us to sell items (lots). We work with them to describe the items accurately and provide clear photos showing the product's condition. This way you know what to expect from the lots you're bidding on.

You can bid at your leisure on our website or using the new mobile app for Android and iOS. You always have a clear understanding of the costs you can expect when placing your bid.

Purchasing a lot through Troostwijk Auctions involves three steps as explained below:

Once your account has been created, bidding is fast and easy. There are a few guidelines we would like to bring to your attention.

  • Bidding takes place in minimum steps. You can immediately see the amount of the next minimum bid that you can place. Of course, you can always adjust this to a higher amount if you wish.
  • Autobid: Don't wish to bid manually every time? You can set a maximum amount to maintain control over your bids.
    • Place an automatic bid and enter into our system the maximum amount you are willing to bid on the lot.
    • If you are outbid, we will automatically increase your bid until you have the highest bid or we reach your limit.
    • Have you reached your limit and someone else just placed a higher bid? We will notify you so you can decide whether to continue bidding.
  • If you change your mind and no longer want an auto bid, simply place a new static (one-off) bid for the next minimum required bid amount.
  • Two-minute rule: So that you're not outbid at the last minute before the auction closes, a two-minute rule applies to our auctions. The closing time of a lot is extended by two minutes as soon as a new bid is placed.
  • Bids are binding: Any online bid you place is final and binding. Cancellation is not possible, as there is no cooling-off period (right of withdrawal) for public auctions (all auctions at Troostwijk Auctions are public). Withdrawing bids would also undermine the integrity of the auction process. So bid responsibly and within your budget.
  • For bids over €4,000, you must pay a deposit to participate. This will be refunded to you after 60 days or on request. Read more here: Guarantee – Troostwijk Auctions

Public Auction: As mentioned earlier in this article, all auctions conducted by Troostwijk Auctions are public. The nature of a public auction is that you can inspect the lots physically and/or online and attend the end of the auction in person by appointment. Read more about public auctions here: Public auction | Troostwijk Auctions

Please note that the right of withdrawal cannot be exercised at public auctions. The lots are described as accurately as possible, but neither the seller nor Troostwijk Auctions provide any guarantees in this regard. Our auctions take place, of course, under notarial supervision.

  1. Payment: If you have won a lot, it will appear in your account under 'My purchases'. You will then receive a message from us stating that your lot can be paid for. After payment, the invoice will also be placed in your account under 'My purchases'.

  1. Pick-up and Delivery: Troostwijk organises two types of auctions: Pick-up Auctions and Delivery Auctions.
  • With pick-up auctions, we organise one or more pick-up days at a specific location where you can pick up the lot(s) you have won. These days are fixed and in most cases not by appointment. You'll find information about this on your invoice or in our emails to you.
    • Prefer not to transport it yourself? You can use a courier (here you'll find various transport options).
    • Unable to attend? In that case, we expect you to arrange alternative transport by calling on an acquaintance/family member or hiring a courier.
  • With delivery auctions, the products are delivered to your address (e.g. work address), often within a limited delivery area (for example, Netherlands only, with the exception of the Wadden Islands and Belgium).
    • For this reason, before you bid, you should always carefully examine the information about the delivery area in the lot description and auction information.
